Don was born March 22, 1934, in Hardeman County to Claude John and Nettie Tyler. On June 11, 1988, he married Teneta S. Tyler. As a young adult he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He worked in the insurance field and owned his own agency for over 30 years.He touched countless lives through his tireless and unselfish servant’s heart. Anyone that met him loved him and felt at ease in his presence. His sense of humor, laugh, and smile were contagious. He loved the Lord with all of his heart and it was important to him to minister to others. He was preceded in death by his parents; Dr. David Tyler (son), Nik Carter (son) and Courtny Dillard (grand-daughter). He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Teneta Tyler of Lubbock; one daughter, Rhonda Dillard and husband Dale, step daughters, Judy Stanton and husband Lonnie, Teresa Mills and husband Randy, sister Gail Bradley and sister Dorothy Sheppard both of Plainview. He had 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren that loved him dearly.The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the friends that supported Don and the family during his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Lakeridge Baptist Church in honor of various ministries that Don loved and supported.
