BA was born June 20, 1928 on a farm in Dickens County TX to Boon A. and Nettie Dee (Murchison) Hyatt. The family lived in Anton and Levelland before settling back in Dickens County in 1940. BA graduated from Dickens High School in 1945. He farmed until serving in the Army in 1954. He was a member of the 601st Army Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion in Washington, D.C. He married Carlene Beaver in Eureka Springs, Arkansas on February 9, 1957. He and Carlene pastored Assembly of God churches in Turkey, Brownfield and Big Lake, TX before moving to Lubbock for their daughter to receive special education. In 1967, he felt called to serve the elderly and began his career in nursing home management. He traveled to 16 different states as a regional manager for several companies before settling in Wheeler,TX in 1983 for 13 years to manage the home there while pastoring a church in Wheeler and Shamrock, TX. He and Carlene retired to Lubbock in 1995 where he worked as consultant for nursing facilities part-time and served as a member in his church in various capacities. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger Dale Hyatt in 1986 and daughter, Patsy Ruth Hyatt in 2010. His wife, Carlene; two sons, Byron Allen Hyatt and wife Kara of Benton, Arkansas, and Ervin Roland Hyatt and wife Lisa of Lubbock,TX; five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren survive him.
