Colin Quinn Butler was born on April 30, 1990 in Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock High School. He received a BA in electronic media from Texas Tech University. If you were to choose one word to describe Colin, it would be ‘passionate’. Colin felt nothing lightly. He was a freethinker with a bottomless curiosity, diving head-first into most every subject and accepting nothing at face value. His passions included music, books, and cinema with the latter being his foremost love and focus in college. His long term career goals were to write screenplays and direct movies. While paying his dues as a production assistant, Colin tragically died in a one vehicle accident. He was transporting film equipment to its next location. He will be missed for his sarcastically dry sense of humor and contagious smile, but most importantly, for being a soft-hearted and steadfast friend, brother and son. Blueberry muffin. (Mic drop. Lights fade).
Colin was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Vernon Butler, and Bill Ball, and two grandmothers, Florence Butler and Syble Hash.
He is survived by his father, Dana Andrew Butler and wife Wendy; his mother, Pamela Ann Brindley and husband George; three siblings, Walt Butler, Amanda Butler, and Dillon Butler; grandfather, William Hash; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
