Sidney Trueman Gibson passed away Friday, July 27, 2018. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will celebrate his life of 60 years on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel. A tribute of Sidney’s life may be found at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for his family.

Sidney Trueman was born on February 2, 1958 to Jack and Myrtie Gaskins Gibson in Lockney, Texas. Sidney worked with Bruckner Truck Sales/Service in Lubbock as a wielder and diesel mechanic for thirty-one years. On April 25, 1981, he married Terrie Payne at the Rose Garden-Hodges Community Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Terrie Gibson; sister, Inez Gibson; mother, Myrtie Gibson; two brothers, Carl Gibson and wife, Lawana, and Dale Gibson and wife, Paulinda; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Celia Mohling; brother-in-law Floyd Waters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Trueman Gibson and sister-in-law, Linda Waters.

I am so sorry to hear of Syd's passing. I work at Lubbock Welding Supply and it was always such a joy when he would call or come in the office. He was such a bright light in our day. Always joking around with us and making everyone laugh. He will be missed so very much.
