Thomas Byron Gray was born June 9, 1965 to Tom Gray and Kay Fowler in Odessa Texas. Byron suffered a heart attack on Tuesday September 25th, and died Tuesday October 2nd from complications.
Byron loved life and was always the first to offer a helping hand. At three years old, although already dressing as a cowboy, he decided he wanted to be a policeman. These two things he never varied on. After attending Texas Tech, he joined the Lubbock Police Department, and after 23 yrs. he retired in 2012. He was instrumental in getting the Pure Water Ice and Tea Company stores up and running. Working in management until September of this year. The joy and pride of being the father of four children, was the most important factor in his life. Always the life and enjoyment of any gathering. His daughter, Audrey, said he was the best of fathers and her number one supporter, being involved with all four children and always there when they needed him
He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Gray of Odessa.He is survived by his children, Jessie Taylor Gray, Callie Jo Gray, Cody Jack Gray, and Audrey Layne Gray; mother, Kay Fowler and husband, Bill Fowler all of Lubbock; three sisters, Tiffany Hager and husband, Merrick of Lubbock, Shelly Warren of Ft Worth, and Savannah Olsen, and husband Brian of Round Rock; along with many nieces and nephews; and a multitude of lifelong friends, all of which will feel a loss of someone who made their lives fuller and happier.
