Eileen Smith

Eileen C. Smith, age 81, has gone to be with her Lord and Savior on October 5, 2018. She has been a long time resident of Lubbock. She was born August 10, 1937 to Paul and Melvina Long in Lawton, Oklahoma, the second of four children.

After graduating Lawton High School, she went to work at Fort Sill Army Base where her father was based and where she met her husband, C. Wayne Smith. After starting her family in Lubbock she went on to graduate from Texas Tech University. She enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with friends and family. She worked for LISD with the DEBT program working with children and their families. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Left to honor Eileen and remember her love are her three children, Pamela Smith, Dr. Steven Smith, and Paula Purselley; four grandchildren, Sydney Smith, Andrew Smith, Justin Purselley and Jude Purselley; three brothers, Van Long, David Long, and Ralph Long.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd St. Lubbock, Texas, 79424. A visitation will be held October 20, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the family home to celebrate her life.
