Linda Hooper passed away November 19, 2018. A time of fellowship and remembrance is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 72 years at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Linda was born on June 27, 1946 to the late Mac and Doris (Miller) Justus in Rapid City, SD. She loved children and from the age of 7, she knew she wanted to be a teacher. Linda also loved music and was extremely talented. She won first place at All State in soprano. She graduated from Tascosa High School, Amarillo and moved to Lubbock in 1967. She married William Gale Hooper on November 27, 1969. Linda received her Bachelor’s degree in music from Texas Tech University. She got her dream job teaching music and sixth grade at P.F. Brown Elementary where she touched the lives of thousands of children over her 30 year career. She was a member of Mu Phi Epsilon, TRTA, LRTA and Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Gale Hooper, daughters, Kim (Larry) Grant of Katy, Tracey Parnell of San Antonio, Dana (Paul) Canales of Boerne, Danee (Trey) Pfeiffer of Richmond; son, Cruz (Anel) Hooper of Boerne; sister, Shirley (Mike) Williams of Lubbock, sister-in-law, Karen Jordan (David) Crook; grandchildren, Chris (Wendy) Holden, Jessica (Chester) Hahn, Lauren Grant, Jennifer Hambright, Brandon Hambright, Ashley Hambright, Sydney Vila, Taylor Vila, Madison Vila, Blake Canales, Brittany (Will) Frank, Jacqueline Pfeiffer, Hannah Hooper, Greyson Hooper, great-grandchildren, Derek Holden, Abigale Holden, Jace Hambright, Brisa Ann Hambright, Layton Hambright, and Wesley Frank; and her best friend, Shirley (Mark) Hutchins of Lubbock.
