DeLois Alexander peacefully passed away January 6, 2019, at the same farm in Slide, Texas, where she was born 90 years before. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Lake Ridge Chapel, followed by a graveside service at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. DeLois married Robert Alexander on December 27, 1943, in Riverside, California.She lived her life and raised a family on the land her grandparents settled in 1902. DeLois loved farm life and often helped Robert in the field. Too outgoing to stay at home for long, she periodically worked as a teller at a bank or credit union in Lubbock. DeLois also sold Fuller Brush products, which provided an excuse to visit friends and shut-ins to share her baked delicacies and endless smiles. An outstanding wife, mother, and friend, she lived to help others.Survivors include her children, David Alexander and wife, Lyndia; Linda Lois Brown, and husband, Billy; Karnella Rae Beasley and husband, Charles; grandchildren, Dundie McInroe, Lynette Wilson and husband, Keith; Buddy Thompson and wife, Mandi; and Chase Beasley; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Cockerell; Colton and Emma Thompson.She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Floy Williams; husband, Robert Alexander; and grandchildren, Wendie Alexander, and David Alexander II.The family appreciates the devotion of Tami Ainsworth, Mary Lopez, and Anita Lopez, for the loving care of Robert and DeLois.
