Bette Pitts passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 74 years at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, followed by a reception at Lake Ridge Chapel.Bette was born on September 7, 1944 to Orva and Leona Henry in Dumas, Texas. Bette married Terry Pitts on February 5, 1972 at First United Methodist Church in Levelland, Texas. Bette received her Bachelor’s degree from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas. She went on to acquire a Master’s of Education degree from Texas Tech University. Bette was a professor and chair person at South Plains College in Levelland for 31 years until her retirement in May of 2007. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.Survivors include her husband, Terry; their children, Brad Jason Pitts and wife, Brandy; Amy Lyn Shriver and husband, Jason; four grandchildren, Aiden John Pitts, Addison Grace Pitts, Kameryn Riley Nichols, Bailey Brooke Shriver; and sister, Lana White and husband, Billy, sister-in-law LaJean Henry, as well as several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Orva and Leona; and brother, Joe Henry, sister, Cheryl Schiller.
