Carolyn Sandefur

Carolyn Sandefur passed away on March 8, 2019. A time of fellowship and remembrance is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 80 years at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Lake Ridge Chapel, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Gardens of Memories Cemetery in Paducah, Texas.Carolyn Sandefur was born January 21, 1939, in Childress, Texas to Reverend and Mrs. Wayne N. Stout. She graduated from Paducah High School in 1957 and attended Draughon’s Business College. She married A. L. Sandefur December 28, 1957. A. L. preceded her in death on April 10, 1978. She is survived by two sons, Brad L. Sandefur, his wife Lori, granddaughters Allison and Britney Sandefur of Lubbock, and Scott L. Sandefur and his wife, Renee of Lubbock. Carolyn is preceded in death by her brother, Roy Stout on April 28, 1983, her mother, Edith Stout on March 10, 1986, and her father, Wayne N. Stout on January 10, 1990.Carolyn was a Real Estate Broker and named Salesman of the Year in 1986 for the Lubbock Association of Realtors. She was a Certified Residential Specialist and Graduate of Realtors Institute. She had participated in the SOARS program at Texas A&M University. She had served as chairman of the MLS committee, Program Committee, and served on most committees including the Texas Real Estate Political Action Committee, Ethics Committee, and By-Laws Committee. She was past President of the Women’s Council of Realtors. She was also a past Director, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and President of the Lubbock Association of Realtors. Carolyn served as co-chair of the Ways and Means Committee for the West Texas Builders Association.Carolyn was active in the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce for several years. She served as Chairman of the President’s Ambassadors and Chairman of the Membership Committee.She was Chairman of the Advisory Board of Texas Tech Health Sciences School of Nursing from 1987 to 1990. She was a member of the President’s Council at Texas Tech University from 1982 through 1985.Carolyn loved the Lord and was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church.Although homebound, Carolyn often expressed her gratitude for the love and prayers she felt from her many beloved friends.
