Karri Young passed away on October 11, 2019. We will celebrate her life of 56 years at 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at Monterey Church of Christ. Friends are invited to share memories and expressions of sympathy for the family to cherish in the space provided at the bottom of this page. Karri Young was born on November 14, 1962, to Jesse and Janet (Bilberry) Roberts in Lubbock, Texas, and graduated from Roosevelt High School. On December 31st of 1985, she met her future husband, Allen Young, at a New Year’s Eve party. The couple married on November 29, 1986, at Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas. It was at about this time that Karri began her 28-year career with United Blood Services in Lubbock as a phlebotomist and trainer coordinator. In 2014, Karri joined the staff at Lubbock High School as an administrative assistant/business manager. The hallmark of her work life was a desire to help people. She was a master of the art of connecting with people and finding the best in everyone she met. She and Allen were active members of the Monterey Church of Christ and later the South Plains Church of Christ. Karri devoted herself to her family. Karri loved Christmas and never let the opportunity to watch a good Hallmark Christmas movie pass her by.Survivors include her husband, Allen Young; daughter, Sarah Anne Young; son, Samuel Wayne Young and wife, Amanda; grandchild, Veronica Kaye Munos; mother, Janet Riemer; two sisters, Kelli McCrary and Jennifer Roberts; and brother, James Roberts.She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Omega Roberts; sister, Kaye Lynn Fikes.
