He married Macaria “Mickey” Guajardo on October 13, 2007, in Lubbock, Texas.Willie grew up in the Arnett Benson neighborhood and Rodgers Park, where he spent much of his time having fun with his friends and his sister, Valerie. At a young age, he worked alongside his step-father, Jesse. He learned many trades—roofing, building fences, and he even built a storm cellar with his cousin Gilbert! He would spend his hard-earned money to attend rock concerts at the Lubbock Coliseum. He was eventually hired to clean up after the shows, which was exciting for the possibility of meeting some of his favorite bands.Later he became a well-known mechanic and welder at Joe’s Muffler Shop, and he eventually moved to construction. Although he worked hard, he always made time for family and friends. Through his love for Rock’ n Roll, Willie made many lifelong friends that will miss him dearly. One of his good friends was Richard “Fish” Guajardo. Willie went by to visit Fish, where he first met Mickey, and as Mickey tells it, he never left. Together they enjoyed family road trips, BBQs, playing Lotteria, and watching the Dallas Cowboys!Little Willie had several nicknames–Crazy Train, Bullet, Willito, Mr. Grumpy, but he also had nicknames for those close to him. Sarah Lee Tucker, Vala Valdez, Chocolate, Wild Bill, Dan the Man, El Flaco, Princess, Chilindrina, Chiva, Licha, and probably others we can’t say here.Survivors include his wife, Macaria “Mickey” Guajardo; their children, Evelyn (Lupe) Morales, and Yvonne (Tony) Moreno; grandchildren, Gabriel and Ezekiel Tapia, Allison and Seth Moreno; great-grandchildren, Azaleigha Moreno; Guillermo’s mother Maria Marin and her husband, Hector from Floresville, Texas; step-father, Jesse Rodriguez from Lubbock. Texas; siblings, Valeria (Billy) Valdez, Maggie, and Abraham.
