Weldon was born on April 22, 1927, in Slaton, TX. He grew up and attended school in Ropesville before joining the Army. He served from 1945-1947 as TS Corporal of the 42nd Armoured Division. Weldon married Bennie Armstrong Wood on Nov. 28, 1969, in Lubbock. He owned and operated Gulf Oil on the circle before I-27 was built and it was torn down. Weldon also ranched at Tudor’s Place for many years following. He was a member of South Park Baptist Church and in his spare time enjoyed hunting and fishing.He was preceded in death by his parents, Vilas Earl Tudor and Pearl Carl Fraley, a sister, Dorothy Fraley and a great- grandson, Robert Tudor.Weldon is survived by his loving wife, Bennie Tudor of Lubbock; six children, Peggy Whitehead (Maurice) of Ropesville, Billy Tudor (Ann), Carol Wood, Bruce Wood (Brenda), Tim Wood, and Garlon Wood (Debbie) all of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren, and a sister, Ty Kizer. Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Lubbock.
