Wallace was a true professional as well as a very kind and genuine man. I always felt I was in good hands with Wallace and that he was willing to put his own family on the plane he was sharing with me. His intelligence and knowledge gave me great comfort. Wallace will be greatly missed...one of a kind. Farewell my friend.

I will forever be grateful to Wallace for giving me an opportunity in aviation. I learned so much form my experience flying with him and he was always gracious and kind. Even after I left Chaparral, I always loved stopping by when I was in town to see him. He was always so excited for me to see the improvements he had been making. He will be missed.

Wallace was my fried for a lot of years. I am so sorry that I have not been over to see him and Tara. He taught me to fly 40 years ago. Just before my check ride he said he thought I would make a good safe pilot because he had never seen anyone with as strong a sense of self preservation as me. RIP Mikee...see you in heaven.

Thank you Wallace for your friendship, your kindness, and all your wise advice on life. I will always remember you as a wise man who lived his life to the fullest. As a pilot, only you know now what it’s like to fly in the heavens above, you as the captain and your son Wesley as your FO!!! (First Officer). God Bless You and Thank YOU!!!

Wallace was my instructor and he genuinely shared in my joy in learning to fly. He laughed because I loved the things he thought I shouldn’t-unusual attitudes, hood training, maneuvers, etc. What a great man, and a great instructor. Fly high my friend, and thanks for all of your patience and kindness.

Don introduced Wallace to me in the 1970's, when Wallace was Hockley Co Tax Assessor. Don had much respect for Wallace, and through the years I understood why. Aviation was their most common interest, leading me to earn my license through teachings of Wallace. Attending community events, and a few times sharing dinner/movies, I knew Wallace more as my instructor while Don knew him through longevity of friendship. But... I will never forget him sharing with me how much he loved you, Tara. He didn't over elaborate- but, his face was glowingly happy when he told me about you! Don and I felt sad when you two moved to Lubbock - we understood we wouldn't be seeing much of the two of you, due to greater demands on the beginnings of Chaparral Aviation. We did stop by to visit on occasions, trying to keep up with you two- and, through Chaparral Curt earned his wings... which was proof of his trustworthiness (Couldn't be anyone else but through Wallace!) I know Wallace has so many friendships, such as ours- that's just the person he was. More than anything - I'm happy for his family of love, his many friends, and blessings through his successful business experiences... well earned respect. I pray God will continue to bless each of you as you embrace all happy memories gifted through Wallace, through God's unending love.

Many good memories of Wallace.
Russell S. Ivy, Sr left a message on February 24, 2020:
The world has lost one of the most talented men ever to walk on this earth. His talents were not those that would be recognized by monuments, trophies or accolades - but were recognized in every minute with him watching, listening and learning what a true gentleman looks like, what a true man of integrity looks like and how a man of unfailing common sense could continue to make the world work using whatever GOD provided for him - these are just a few of Wallace’s many talents. I literally could write a book about my experiences with Wallace over the last 32 years - he was so much to me and my family - more than I could ever express. I’m gonna miss our talks about each of ours little victories in how we found something on “special” otherwise known as on sale, or how we took an expensive complicated project and fixed it simply and at no cost. I selfishly was thinking that the world would have so many projects incomplete and unable to be fixed without Wallace here to fix them - but Wallace taught so many his talents including me in order to keep the world moving - maybe not at the lowest negotiated price that Wallace could achieve - but nonetheless the World will keep moving and the World is such a better place and the World is a more efficient place all because Wallace was here to share his talents that GOD bestowed upon him.
