W. Darlene Reaves, the daughter of George A. Montgomery and Lillie Belle Payne Montgomery was born in Whiteflat, Texas, on April 5, 1923. She was raised in Big Spring, Texas, and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1941. She married H. Bennett Reaves December 13, 1941. After WW II, they moved to Lubbock, where Bennett completed his education at Texas Tech in 1948. They raised their four daughters in Lubbock.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, George Montgomery; a sister, Maurine Carter; an infant son; two sons-in-law, Nelson Fox and Frank Wyatt; a grandson, Scott Phillips, a grandson-in-law, Arron Tidwell; and her faithful companion, her dog Missy.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda Wyatt, Cynthia Fox, Beverly Ibison (Kerry), and Valerie Kyle (Keith); ten grandchildren; fifteen great- grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Snyder; three nephews; and two nieces.
