The family of Valor Chaparro will celebrate his life of 11 months at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Southcrest Baptist Church. He passed on Friday, September 24, 2021. We invite you to view the live-streamed service on this page, and sign his virtual guestbook.Valor joined us on this side of heaven at Heartbeat Midwifery in Lubbock, Texas. He was a beautiful boy full of joy and wonder with big curious blue eyes, hair so light he looked bald, full pink lips, and his best feature, his perfect tiny chin. Joy never left his face, and he beamed the biggest smile when anyone spoke to him. With two parents who worked from home, this boy spent every second of his life with his family. When they would travel for work, he went along with them. He traveled to more places and saw more than some people do in their lifetime. His mom is grateful that he never took a bottle or pacifier for comfort so that she spent special time nursing and holding him every day of his life. He was happiest in her arms or in her lap and she was his ultimate source of comfort. His dad’s favorite thing to do was tickle his neck with his beard as he boomed with laughter. His siblings were obsessed with him. His sisters treated him like their own baby and loved to play with him and carry him around. His brother showed us a side that only comes out when you become an older brother. He loved to wildly push Valor in the stroller but met him with such a gentle touch and always protected him. Valor always knew what he wanted, and he always got just what he wanted, pushing his own carts and strollers, or standing like a valiant soldier in a chariot.Valor is survived by his father, Justice Chaparro, his mother, Mikayla Chaparro, his siblings Emagen, Natalie, and Beckham, his grandparents Jim McLamore, Katherine McLamore, Tracy Chaparro and Jennifer McLamore, his great grandparents Donna and Dennis White, Marian Anderson, his aunts and uncles, Jason and Jennifer McLamore, Faith and Brian Tate, Chad Spence, Ellie, and Juan Castro, Ava Chaparro, and his cousins Michael, Willow, Ian, Zane, Sean, Raylan, and Brennan. His death was preceded by two siblings lost early in pregnancy, his paternal great grandmother Francine Spence, his paternal uncle Tony Trammell, and his maternal great grandfather Edgar McLamore.“I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”Psalms 27:13-14 ESV
