Valda Lee Elliott

Valda Lee Elliott passed away on January 13, 2020. We will celebrate her life of 83 years at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Broadway Church of Christ. Friends are invited to share memories and expressions of sympathy for the family to cherish in the area below the obituary.Valda Elliott was born on July 27, 1936, to Burgess and Gwendolyn Petty, the oldest of four near O’Donnell, Texas. Valda married SSGT Roy Elliott on March 14, 1955, in Clovis, New Mexico. Roy, Mrs. Elliott’s husband, was in the military, so he and Valda lived in several places throughout their life together until he was killed in Vietnam on May 12, 1968. Valda never remarried but lived a full life as a mother for six children. She worked as a clerk for FSA for 35 years, retiring in January, 2011.Survivors include her children, Michael (Mersha) Elliott, Kathie Elliott Davis, daughter-in-law, Marla Elliott, Corey David Elliott, Robin Renee (Ray) Fulton, and Karen Elliott; 9 grandchildren, Jessica Lee (Leon) Durning, Erin (Patrick) Littlefield, Julianna Nichole Davis, Colton Scott Davis, Justin Roy Elliott, Erik James Elliott, Meagan Shay Holmes, Trevor Sales, and Tanner Sales; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Duane (Sondra) Petty; 2 sisters-in-law, Lois Petty, Shirley Petty; uncle, JL Petty; brother-in-law, Dean (Karen) Elliott; and many cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents, Burgess Lee and Gwendolyn Eva Petty; husband, Julius Roy Elliott; son, Kevin Glenn Elliott; grandchild, Taylor Sales; and great-grandson, Malachi Stell.
