Turlapati Bheemarathnamma Rao

Memorial services for Bheemarathnamma T. Rao, 91 of Lubbock, Texas will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 3 to 4 PM at Lake Ridge Chapel And Memorial Designers, Lubbock, TX. Cremation will follow. She lived in Lubbock since 1980. 

Bheemarathnamma was born in India on September 19, 1926 to the late Kambadur Chinna Subbarao and Mahalaxmamma. She is the oldest of eight children. She married Turlapati Rangarao and had four children, two daughters and two sons. She was preceded in death by her husband; second son-in-law, Sanjeev Prakash; granddaughter, Krishna Sudha; younger son, Krishna Prasad; younger brother, Sanjeeva Rao; and younger sister, Padmavathi. She was a wonderful person liked by all who came across her. She was always active, loved her family and friends, mentally very sharp and had a marvelous memory till her last stages. She was a multi-linguist and could speak many languages. She enjoyed various hobbies like Sudoku, cards, Casinos, and reading.

She is survived by her three children, Priyamvada/ Chittaranjan, T. Ramamohan Rao/ Vimala, and Aruna Kumari; six grandchildren, Uma/ Sanjay Mundle; Kavita / Srinivas Kalathoor; Sai/ Robert Dilinger; Shankar Sanka/ Ratna Kiran; Sai Prasad Rao, Geetha/ Raju Thiagarajan; eleven great-grandchildren Sujay, Keshav, Rohan, Rishy, Sheena, Reena, Anand, Jothi, Nayan, Niharika and Eshaan.

Bheemarathnamma’s family would like to thank all her caregivers for the excellent care and love given to her.

Bheemakka was my elder sister. We lost the eldest member of Kambadur family who was a legend without doubt. God was kind enough to give us an opportunity to spend a couple of months with her in the US through Mohan and Vimala recently. No words can describe her character. I used to feel she was a replica of our father. Always moving so happily with her kith and kin. I am left alone by losing my two dear elder sisters.My heart felt condolences to her family.

She always encouraged us to reach for the stars. “Come to America,” she would say. “You will love the country.” I always smiled whenever she said that. She had great ambitions for the entire family! She was instrumental in making so many of our lives a better life. She took care of my mother when she was ill. She made sure all her siblings were well provided for. In her old age, she spent happy, contented years in Lubbock. She found peace in the company of her loving daugter inlaw, Vimala anty.
