The family of Tregg David Granato will host a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate his life of 55 years is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Tregg David was born August 2, 1967, to Joe and Barbara Knox Granato in Amarillo, Texas. Tregg graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas in 1986. He began farming in Brownfield, Texas while attending Texas Tech University where he was a member of the Delta Chi fraternity. He married Karen Kerr on July 8, 1997, under a 300-year-old cotton tree in Negril, Jamaica. Tregg raised two beautiful daughters, Tatum and Piper, with the love of his life in Lubbock, Texas; where he made all their dreams come true. Tregg was a farmer, rancher, and a lover of the land through working and adventuring. He was a creative thinker, designer, and forever fearless man. He loved to explore his creativity through cooking, building, and storytelling. Tregg was an amazing listener and completely present in every moment, he always left people feeling better than how he found them. He remained close and connected to each of his friends through all walks of life. Tregg was as tough as they come yet his love was fierce, tender, and true. Tregg had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. He was the most beautiful man on the inside and out and is adored indefinitely. Tregg never failed to live life to the fullest and was doing one of the things he loved the most up to the end of his precious life.

Tregg is survived and will be eternally cherished by wife, Karen Granato; their daughters Tatum and Piper Granato; his parents, Joe and Barbara Granato; siblings, Tonia (Larry) Newsom, Todd (Lori) Granato; sister-in-law’s Susan Williams and Sharon Lockett; mother-in-law’s Mary (Kay) Kerr and Cynthia Johnson; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kolter’s Kids – TCLA, 121 S. 6th Street, Brownfield, TX 79316.

Dear Joe & Barbara, Our hearts go out to you in deepest sympathy in the loss of your precious Tregg. We didn’t hear a thing about this until yesterday& tried to find an email address or phone # with no luck... we went through FB trying to get a way to contact you. Finally we called the funeral home and a sweet lady took our phone numbers & promised to give them to you. We are truly heartbroken for you & know this is every parent’s greatest nightmare. Oh we are sooo sorry you are having to face this challenge. We would love to be able to do something to help. WE have had our minds on you and wish we could hug you. We would love to see you & you both remain some of our sweetest memories of coaching at Robert E Lee. ❤️❤️ We are praying for you that you will lean on Jesus who will comfort and strengthen you . Tregg was the sweetest, kindest, loyal friend with a huge heart and a huge smile. I was in Tregg’s friend group in high school and also at Tech. I haven’t seen Tregg in many years but hearing the stories and memories that were shared today brought a smile to my face. I’m glad to hear that he hasn’t changed a bit… I could almost hear him saying “No Way” just like it was yesterday. My heart goes out to his beautiful family. I know you will treasure your memories. I will miss our random phone calls where he laughs the whole call. He was a great friend in high school, and I am lucky to have reconnected with him a few years back. Karen, Piper, and Tatum You all are in our prayers and asking for healing and comfort. Tregg made the world a better place. Anyone that knew him always had a good time when they were together. My best memory of Tregg is that he loved Merle Haggard and I also remember the Tik Tok video that us soccer dads did for CHS girls soccer team during COVID. He had the moves.
