Tranquilino G. Saldivar, Jr. was a beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025 at home in Brownfield, Texas at the age of 74. He was born April 12, 1950 in Melvin Texas to Tranquilino G. Saldivar, Sr and Felipa (Gonzales) Saldivar. He married Rumalda (Gonzales) Saldivar in Olton Texas on August 25, 1972.
Tranquilino, was loved by many and had a couple of nicknames, Frank by friends, Junior by his family, Dad, and his favorite Popo by his grandchildren. He was a painter by trade, maintenance worker at the end of his career. He enlisted in the Army in August of 1969 and served in Vietnam. He had an unwavering love for his kids and grandkids, loved going on family vacations, barbecues and holiday get togethers. He enjoyed his Bahama Bucks, banana splits and Little Debbie snacks. He was a practical joker who loved classic cars, Tejano music, and westerns. He had a black thumb for gardening and always wanted to go fishing but, in reality he didn’t have the patience to catch a fish. His kids and grandkids loved spending time with him and will truly miss him.
He is survived by his four children Selena (Santos) Reyes, Sonya (Chris) Smith, Ralph (Valerie) Saldivar, Renee (Sonny) Rodriquez, and son-in-law Nathan Orosco, eleven grandkids, and many grandpups.
He is preceded in death by his parents Tranquilino Sr. and Felipa Saldivar, wife, Rumalda Saldivar, daughter Priscilla Saldivar-Orosco, son-in-law Larry Delgado, grandson Devin Saldivar, siblings Frances Romo, Rafael Saldivar, Tomas Saldivar.
