Thomas Edward Blackstock passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 79 years on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at 2 PM at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.
Tom was born on August 22, 1938 to Jack and Olga (Naler) Blackstock in Greenville, TX. After living in Houston, Waco, and Plainview, his family settled in Lubbock where he attended high school before entering the military. He was stationed in Germany as an Army tank commander until returning to Lubbock where he married Sylvia Kay Hill on May 28, 1960. He then went on to gain his degree from Texas Tech in 1964. Self employed most of his life, Tom went on to own several Texaco service stations, a BF Goodrich tire store, as well as running the EZ Haul franchise in Lubbock. He was then involved in the trucking business as an owner/operator and driver for most of the rest of his life. Tom was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sylvia Kay.
Survivors include his sons, Mark Blackstock and wife Karmen and Scott Blackstock all of Lubbock; brother, Jack Naler Blackstock of Parker, CO; three grandchildren, Kelsea Blackstock, James Blackstock, and Cole Blackstock; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Sage Blackstock.
