The family of Thelma Marie Fowler will host a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, December 02, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate her life of 80 years is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a graveside service at Ropesville Cemetery. Thelma Marie Fowler was born April 4, 1942, to Robert and Carrie Lee Hall in El Paso, TX. She married Monte Fowler on January 20, 1959 in Muleshoe, TX.
Thelma was a full-time mother and homemaker and together with her husband built a successful construction and roofing business. She served as his secretary and “go-for” as she would often say. They raised two children, enjoyed church, live music, following local country musicals, square dancing, riding horses and motorcycles. She was a member of Hub City Wheelers Square Dance Club. She enjoyed music and fellowship as a member of Joy Club at Church on the Rock.
Sewing, painting, and taking in stray dogs were a few of her passions, but she loved her Lord Jesus, family and friends the hardest. She will always be known and remembered as “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Thelma Fowler is survived by her children, Randal Fowler, Cheryl (Alex) Blocker,; grandchildren, Natalia (Kevin) Keenan, Adam (Monica) Whitlock, Darren (Ashley) Fowler, Chandra (Nando) Aguirre; step-grandchildren, Angela (Michael) Wilcox, Erin Pequeño; 14 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Carrie Lee Hall; husband, Monte Fowler; siblings, Delbert Hall, Melvin Hall, Kenneth Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family has chosen the Lubbock Dream Center for donations in honor of Thelma Fowler.
