Terry Don Bell was born on November 11, 1944, in Pecos, Texas, to Hollis Dan Bell of Cooper, Texas, and Nellie Helen Lewis Bell of Pattonville, Texas. In his younger days, Terry worked very hard mowing lawns, working for the electric company, and working at the icehouse, handling huge blocks of ice. Terry attended high school at Pecos High School, graduating in 1963, and then went on to attend Lubbock Christian College, obtaining an Associate in Science degree in 1965. He attended Texas Tech University and graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Terry then went to the Sunset School of Preaching, graduating in 1970. He received a teacher’s certification with a specialization to work with students with special needs in 1971.
Terry went on to work for the Broadway Church of Christ as the Spanish Youth Minister, Bus Minister, and Education Minister for 15 years on a part-time basis. He had a long and fulfilling career working with Special Needs students with the Lubbock State School, with LISD, and with Petersburg Elementary. He served faithfully and with great perseverance, teaching Sunday School and providing activities for special needs students across Lubbock for more than five decades at the Broadway Church of Christ. He also worked closely with several Spanish ministries across the city.
Terry passed away peacefully at The Isle at Raider Ranch on February 12, 2025, at the age of 80. He is survived by his brother Randy Bell of Harlingen, Texas.
