On July 6, 1959, Teresa Ann was born to George & Betty Vinson in Inglewood, California. She met the love of her life, Mark Alan Carey, while attending Lubbock Christian College, where they became engaged.  She married Mark on January 1, 1980, at Country Club Road Church of Christ in Roswell, New Mexico.

After moving to Houston, TX, where Mark attended dental school, they moved back to Roswell, NM, to open a family dental practice & raise their 3 girls.

For 32 years they lived in Roswell, NM. Teresa & Mark enjoyed life together by spending time with their children, going skiing, scuba diving, camping, golfing, & going on walks in the evening with their dog, Puggly.  In 2010, Teresa started having health issues. She always maintained hope & a positive approach to life, which inspired her to want to spend more quality time with her family.

Mark retired in 2018 from Dentistry. He & Teresa moved to Lubbock, TX, where they could be closer to their children & grandchildren. In her final years, she portrayed the true meaning of hope, strength, love, & servitude. Teresa was a fighter at heart.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Carey; their children, Erin (Darin) Michalk, Kristin (Adam) Spencer, & Michelle (Jessie) Garza; grandchildren, Brayden Michalk, Lincoln Spencer, Jessie Garza, Ireland Michalk, Rowan Spencer, & Valor Garza of Lubbock, TX; parents George Vinson & Betty (Pigg) Vinson of Amarillo, TX; siblings, Alicia (Davis) Bennett of Roswell, NM;  Keith (Cathey) Vinson of San Antonio, TX.
