Dear Friends - My heart aches for each of you as I just learned of Steve's passing today. I was able to join the service online. As John said, continue to give each other the Grace that only comes from Christ.... I am so sad because I know your hurt is raw and real and it is a heartache like nothing else on this earth. Keep these precious, treasured memories of Pappy alive! I want you to know that your family always made my family feel welcome when we first came to FCN over 30 years ago. I told Steve and Carol how much I appreciated their genuine friendliness and sincere welcome many, many times. I love each of you kids and the grand-ones, many of whom I have taught over the years. You are a precious group of God's people and I am holding you all in prayer. Much love in Christ - Kristy Joy Cox

I remember Steve from my time living in Lubbock and going to FNC. You were always there to greet people in the hallways. When my dad passed, you served as a pallbearer. Thank you for that. Your family and friends will miss you and will have many memories to share.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Oh where to start… Steve was such an amazing man; he had a heart of gold and I have a few memories stick out that I want to share. Steve loved when I cut his hair even though I was horrible at it, and he always asked me to do it when i visited him. He let me ride his cool lawn mower around the garden. One time when I was sitting on his porch watching the sunset he came and quietly sat down to watch the sunset with me. There was a spot he knew of that always had deer around it so he took my sister and I to look at the deer and on our way back steve got pulled over lol. I’m so blessed to have had those moments with him but I wish I had more. Steve always knew what to say or when to just listen, and he had a way of making you feel safe. To know him was to love him, and I couldn’t be more proud to be apart of his family.

When i was little every time we’d stay the night with grammy and pappy late at night right before bed he would make peanut butter and syrup bread and share with us. I remember it being one of my favorite parts of going over there, and i still make it to this day.

This precious cousin always had such an affection for all that loved and new him. There was no one better to do the bar-b-que at our family reunion. We will really miss his infectious smile that seemed to never leave his face and true compassion for those he loved. May God bless all the family as they go through the process of loosing him. Remember there is always a HELLO after this GOODBYE. . ❤️🙏🏻
