Stephen was born September 25, l970, in Anson, Texas. He graduated from Anson High School in 1989. He then attended Angelo State University for two years majoring in Agribusiness. For several years Stephen worked for his uncle in Brownfield before beginning employment with Sparkman’s Nursery in Lubbock. After leaving Sparkman’s he worked for John Deere Landscape until 2006, when he transferred to assist in the expansion of a new branch location in San Antonio. He worked at four different store locations in the San Antonio area and was made manager of the Nacogdoches Road location, one that he helped build. He was manager of this location at the time of his death.
He was the happiest when spending time outdoors with his girlfriend, tending his new vineyard, and working in his garden. The past few years he had become a connoisseur of wine and spent many weekends at local wineries. One of Stephen’s passions was collecting John Deere tractors, and over the years he had amassed a very large collection.
