Shirley was born on November 4, 1943 to Travis and Marcella Davis in Lubbock, Texas. On Sept. 28, 1969, Shirley married the love of her life, Tommy in Juarez, Mexico. Shirley enjoyed being a hairstylist, working alongside her husband at Economy Motors, and greeting customers at First Bank and Trust. Her favorite place in the world was Lubbock, Texas. She was a member of the Northside Church of Christ and later South Plains Church of Christ. She enjoyed singing, reading, jewelry, traveling, coffee, and conversation. Shirley never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel welcome and special. Her last four years were spent in Shreveport, LA, at Montclair and the Chateaus under the wonderful care of their dedicated staff. There, she lived a full life despite the effects of Alzheimer’s. She now resides with her heavenly Father.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Tommy; and a brother, Rickey Davis.Survivors include her three daughters, Dondi Fielder and husband, Jon of Shreveport, LA, Christa Atchison-Threet and Torrie Atchison both of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Nate Fielder and Bailey Fielder, both of Shreveport, and Clay Threet and Aislynn Threet, both of Lubbock; a brother, Jerold Davis and wife Anne of Dallas; and two sisters, Sherra Fahscholtz and husband, Ed of Lubbock, and Judy McCullough and husband, Dick of Virginia Beach, VA; along with numerous nieces and nephews.Memorials are suggested to the Lubbock Christian University Bible Department, lcu.edu, or Sunset International Bible Institute, 3723 34th St, Lubbock, TX 79410.
