Segundo was born on December 23, 1928 to the late Basilio and Felicia (Sosa) Marruffo in Fort Stockton, TX. Segundo served in the US Army during WWII in Germany. Following his discharge he moved to Lubbock where he met the love of his life, Josefina Garibay and they married on June 21, 1955 in New Mexico. Segundo worked as a welder for 30 years, retiring from Eagle Pitcher. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Segundo was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and he enjoyed attending rodeos. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josefina on June 19, 2010.Segundo is survived by his children, Nora Marruffo, Harvey (Raquel) Marruffo, Joe Marruffo, and Jennifer (Gonzalo) Rojas all of Lubbock and Cynthia (Roger) Alvarez of Aubrey, Tx.; four siblings, Augustine Marruffo, Delia Valdez, and Helen Hernandez all of Lubbock, and Ezekiel Marruffo of Burleson, seven grandchildren, Chris and Amber Castello, Megan Marruffo, Matthew Alvarez, Isiah Singleterry, and Isaiah and Jacob Mesa, and a great-grandson, Luke Castello.Segundo S. Marruffo, 87, loving father, grandfather and brother passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
