Scott Earl Byars

Scott was born on May 3, 1957 to Lyle and Donna Byars in Amarillo, Texas. He attended Amarillo High School and graduated 1975. He went on to work for several companies in the Amarillo and Lubbock area as a successful salesperson. When not working, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies and watching the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays. He was always ready to offer someone in need a helping hand. He will be missed dearly by those who called him friend and mentor. Scott is survived by his sister, Michele Byars of Broadview, New Mexico. He is also survived by several friends, Jess Earl Whitehead of Broadview, New Mexico, Jimmy Lynn of Lubbock, Texas and Don Beard of Lubbock, Texas, who were like brothers to him and many, many others that treated him more like family than friends. He was truly blessed and loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Byars and Donna Byars.

Michelle, so sorry for your loss. Scott and I used to hang out together in early 90s. I called him one time on Sunday just as cowboy game started and told him my car broke down. There was a long silence, then he said I'll be right there. I just started laughing. He and I were kidding each other a lot. Such a sweet sweet man.

So many great memories growing up on Princeton Street. Scott and Michele moved there in the late 60's. Our big brothers, Scott, Mike, Walt and Steve drove us crazy at times but we treasure those days and all the fun we had! We were blessed with the best childhood ever! We'll miss you, Scott.Linda, Stacy, Kim and Donna

So saddened to hear of Scott's death. Knew him since he was a young boy. Loved his parents dearly & sister Michele. Pray for peace & comfort for the family. He was a delightful person, compassionate & caring person.

I am going to miss Scott's shy smile. He was a great friend to me and my brother Jessie.

Great friend ! I am going to miss this guy ! Had a great influence in my life ! A prime example of a man of integrity, unselfish, and a sports freak ! Had so many a time at his house watching Super Bowls , Dallas cowboys,Texas tech football ! Danced a jig ! When when Wes weaker run that touchdown to to beat Texas A&m ! In the last minute! Won a bet and was to fond of the aggies ! Your friend Jessie Hernandez !
