Santiago married San Juana Sanchez on April 27, 1970, in Tahoka, Texas. Our dad always called himself the greatest, and we never really understood why until recently. If you look up the word greatest, you will find the meaning: of an extent, amount, or intensity considerably above the normal or average. Looking back at all of his sacrifices, trials, and tribulations, he never complained. He made sure we were always taking care of, even if it meant giving up his last piece of food or clothing to keep us fed or warm. He was quick to lend a helping hand to friends, neighbors, and family. But most of all, he taught us about the meaning of prayer. He would always tell us, “a prayer is worth more than a million dollars.” He taught us to treat one another with love and respect. He would say, “the most important thing in life is GOD, always put God first and then family.” He would also say, “Listen, it don’t cost you nothing!””No mas oye y callate.” Just listen and be quiet. We will always cherish our moments, our talks, and his advice. He was, is, and will always be the GREATEST!!!!!Survivors include his wife, San Juana Ramos; children, Maribel Ramos, Anthony Ramos, Jacob (Amanda) Ramos, and Gary Ramos; five grandchildren, Frederick Ramos, Alia Castillo, Jimmy Ramos, John Ramos, and Katy Ramos; great-grandchild, Zerhyn Ramos; siblings, Mary Manus, Paula Ramos; Frank (Maggie) Ramos, Juan Ramos, Reynaldo (Paula) Ramos, Ramiro Ramos, Ricardo Ramos, and Oscar (Nico) Ramos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Clara Ramos; son, Santiago Ramos, Jr.; siblings, Jesus, Albert, Jose Luis, and Reymundo Ramos, Consuelo Prieto, and Katy Gonzalez.
