Sam Taylor passed away December 21, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 85 years at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Sam Taylor was born on June 21, 1933, to Herbert and Lula Taylor in Dialville, Texas. Samuel married Ida Llewellyn on December 24, 1953, in Tyler, Texas.

Sam served in the military and played college basketball at Howard Payne College and loved outdoor fishing, hunting, and especially golf. He retired from the food brokerage industry and loved people.

Survivors include his children, Gary Preston Taylor and wife, Lisa; Gayle Sims and husband, Eric; four grandsons, John Preston Taylor and wife, Lynda; Jeffrey Craig Taylor and wife, Stacy; Dusty Sims and wife, Courtney; Tyler Sims and wife, Lauren; and Samantha Sims; great-grandchildren, Bennett Preston Taylor, Julian Caden Taylor, Milo Taylor Douglass, Reese Allanah Taylor, and Lyla and Gunner Sims. He was predeceased by his wife, Ida Llewellyn Taylor.

I am so sorry to learn of his passing. My deepest condolences goes to the family. The Bible describes death as being an enemy and how true that really is. How we look forward to the resurrection hope mentioned at Acts 24:15. Psalms 34:18 talks about Jehovah God being close to the broken hearted and saving those who are crushed in spirit. I hope these scriptures brings the family some comfort during this time.

I am deeply saddened to learn of this dear friend's passing. Sam Taylor was adored by many friends especially those whom he worked with in the grocery sales industry. Me especially, Sam taught me many traits to be successful in consumer product sales. His years at Campbell Soup to Broker Sales, the man knew how to establish relationships and sell.My thoughts and prayers are with the Taylor family during this time.
