The family of Ruth Chiolo will celebrate her life of 91 years at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.  She passed on Thursday, March 3, 2022.  We invite you to view the live-stream service on this page, signed her virtual guestbook, and download her memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing.  We also ask you to consider viewing her Life Tribute, a video of photographs set to her favorite music.

On January 22, 1931, Mildred Ruth was born to William and Annie Parker in Courtney, TX. She graduated from Courtney High School in 1948 and then attended Texas Tech Business School for Women.  On completion, she moved to San Antonio, TX, and went to work for a national corporation.  She married in 1953, in San Antonio, TX, and had three children James, John, and Glynn Chiolo.  In 1963, Ruth and her family moved to New York City where she became employed by AT&T.  After ten years of management at AT&T, she moved her family back to Midland, TX to be near her parents and other family members.  In 1974, she went to work for the Texas Railroad Commission and retired from the state in 1992.  At that time, Ruth moved to Lubbock, TX where she enjoyed many years with family and friends.  She spent the last five years of her life living at the Isle at Raider Ranch.  She enjoyed the years at Raider Ranch and was well cared for by the staff.

Survivors include her children, John (Rita) Chiolo, and Glynn (Darlene) Chiolo; grandchildren, Kelsey (Lance) Wagner, Jack (Roxy) Stanford, Joey (Danielle) Chiolo, Adam (Candice) Chiolo, Timothy (Meghan) Chiolo; great-grandchildren, Arya Stanford, Jaxon Stanford, Malachi Chiolo, Elijah Chiolo, Lauren Chiolo, Bowen Chiolo, Bjorn Chiolo, Felicity Chiolo;  daughter-in-law, Betty Darby; sister-in-law, Bobbie Parker; nephew and nieces,  Donald Parker, Carrie Sinskie, Cathy Mosley and Cindy Jacobs.

She was preceded in death by father, William Parker; mother, Annie Parker; son, James Chiolo; grandson, Jerrod Stanford; brother, James Parker.


The family of Ruth Chiolo has designated the Alzheimer’s Foundation for memorial contributions donated in her memory.
