Ruben Castillo Rivera

Ruben Castillo Rivera went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas.

Ruben was born in Fierro, NM, to Jose and Evangelista Rivera. He passed away at the age of 91. He was married to Catalina Rodriguez and passed away on what would have been their 71st wedding anniversary. Ruben proudly served his country in World War II and was a member of the VFW in Alamogordo, NM.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Catalina and his daughter, Olivia Pacheco.

He is survived by his daughter Rosalinda Rodriguez and husband, Mario Rodriguez of Lubbock, Texas and eight grandchildren, Christina Reta companion, Jason DeHerrera of Bernalillo, NM; Veronica Taylor husband, Scott of Lewisville, TX; David Pacheco wife, Olga; Amy Tinajero husband, Richard; Johnny Pacheco wife, Debbie; Yvette Reyes husband, Robert; Yvonne Pacheco husband, Nick Chavez all of Las Cruces, NM; and Victor Reta, buddy and best friend, of Lubbock, Texas. Ruben is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life mass will be held on October 4, 2018 at 4 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Alamogordo, NM. Burial will take place on October 5, 2018 at 2:15 p.m. at the Fort Bayard National Cemetery, Fort Bayard, NM.
