Rosemary Anne Smith

A mass to celebrate Rosemary Anne Smith’s 80 years of life is scheduled at 3:00 PM on Monday, July 31, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.  There will be a visitation with family and friends from 4:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel followed by a rosary at 5:00 PM.   She died peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Rosemary was born July 30, 1942, to Eldridge and Mary Reilley Pentheny in Philadelphia, PA.  She met the love of her life, Ivor, when they both worked at Westinghouse.  They married in 1968 and were married for over 49 years.  She dedicated her life to her family and the church and was a faithful servant and volunteer to many causes.  Her favorite times were spent with family and friends at the beach.

Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Christine Mathews and Sheila (Ryan) Beam; grandchildren, Alexander Ivor (Libby) Mathews, Emery Bayless Mathews, Isabelle Anne Mathews, Smith Albert Beam, Riley Elizabeth Beam; and her sister, Marie Therese Cardwell.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ivor Neil Smith; her parents, Eldridge and Mary Pentheny; and her siblings, Patricia Morrison and Eldridge Pentheny.  In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Rosemary’s honor to St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Parish.
