Rosa Luen Kwan passed away on April 27, 2020, after a brief illness. She was 84. The service will be private, and no guests will be allowed to attend the in-person event at this time. Below the obituary is a place to share memories and expressions of sympathy.Born on April 22, 1936, to Ana and Augusto Quant in Masaya, Nicaragua, her family moved back to China in 1948, then later to Hong Kong. She moved to the United States and settled in Lubbock in 1998 to join her brothers and sister. She worked at the Fortune Cookie Chinese restaurant with her brothers, where she made the best wontons and egg rolls. She enjoyed cooking and loved to cook for her family and friends. She lived life through simple pleasures, chatting with family, spending time with her grandnieces and grandnephews, and knitting sweaters and hats for them as Christmas gifts. She will be remembered for her never-ending generosity, her smile, and her ability to sneak ingredients in the food she cooks (and make it taste great!). She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.Survivors include by her brother Victor Quant and wife Nubia of Lubbock; sister Miriam Cheung and husband Albert of Boston; brother Roberto Quant and wife Lorena of Lubbock; and brother William Kwan and wife Fong of Lubbock, and numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. She was preceded in death by her parents Augusto and Ana Quant, brother Augusto and sister-in-law Maria Quant, and brother Carlos Jose Quant.
