Johnny Ronald Wyatt was born on April 28, 1943, to Richard Jackson and Thelma Helen Stokes Wyatt in Tahoka, Texas. While in school, he was involved in FFA and showed livestock. As a student-athlete, he participated in all sports and even won the Texas State Class A Long Jump Championship in 1960. He married Ann Miller on January 4, 1964, in Tahoka, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of the community of New Home, Texas where he was a cotton farmer, raised his family, and continued to support all youth programs in the community.
Though farming was his main occupation, Ronald could best be described as an entrepreneur. If there was an opportunity to prosper, he was all about trying it. Some of these businesses included crop dusting, television repair, computer sales, satellite television receiver sales/installation, equipment manufacturing, water well service, and even roofing, just to name a few of his business ventures. The most important thing to Ronald was his love for the Lord. He shared his faith with his family often and instilled the same love for Christ in them. Ronald did not fear death and even welcomed it when it was his time.
Ronald will best be remembered for his smile, sense of humor, and loyalty. He loved to work and passed that ethic on to his children as well. He also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Poppy, as his Grandkids called him, missed very few of their events and loved them dearly. He seemed to have a different and special relationship with each of them individually, yet loved them all the same.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Ann Wyatt; their children, Jeff (Juli) Wyatt, Jim (Melinda) Wyatt, Julie (Kevin) Bell; grandchildren, Ashton (Dillon) Drury, Dr. Bailey Bell, Weston Wyatt, and Walker Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Harper and Denver Drury. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Duane Jackson Wyatt and Vona Lou Ussery; parents, Richard and Thelma Wyatt.
