Ron Henderson

June 11, 1941 - June 27, 2018

Ronald Myron Henderson passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Committal service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. 

Ron was born on June 11, 1941, to the late Roy and Christine (Christian) Henderson in Crockett, Texas. He attended and graduated from public schools in Galena Park, Texas. After classroom studies and playing basketball at Jacksonville College and Lamar University, Ron received his Bachelor of Science from Lamar. Later he earned Master’s Degrees in counseling and public school administration. During his forty-year career in education, he served as classroom teacher, coach, counselor, assistant principal, and high school principal.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Betty Henderson; sons, Randy Henderson and wife, Amy of Vega; and Rick Henderson of Lubbock; grandchildren, Alyx Henderson and A.J. Henderson; brother, Alan Henderson and wife, Pat of Palestine, Texas; and brother-in-law, Bo Peters and wife, Kathleen of Middleburg, Florida.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Brookdale Monterey whose staff willingly and lovingly gave wonderful care to Ron during his journey with Alzheimer’s.

Dear Betty and Family. I'm so sorry about Ron's passing. I talk with Alan occasionally, but have not been in touch with Ron since we were teenagers. His Grandmother was my Dad's eldest sister.
