Roger Dale Ward, 69 of Lubbock, Texas, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family under the care of Hospice of Lubbock.Roger was born December 20, 1949, here in Lubbock to Jack and Hazel “Edge” Ward. He attended school in Lubbock and graduated on the Dean’s List from South Plains College.Roger married his “Forever and Always” love, Lucinda Felten Ward on December 7, 1973. They spent 46 years of their lives together. Roger was employed by Comgraphix Inc. for 25 years prior to his retirement in 2012. Roger was active in the Roosevelt school community coaching girls’ softball, basketball and served as President of Little Dribblers Association for several years.Preceding him in death are his parents, Jack and Hazel Ward, his sisters, Glenda “Ward” Ramirez and Jo Ann “Ward” Hugill, brother-in-law, Joe Hugill, his in-laws Norman and Eulanda Felten, and his uncle Milburn Edge. His cousins Donnie Edge and Raymond Ward who were more like his brothers will be waiting to greet him with open arms.Roger is survived by his wife, Lucinda, children Melissa and Patrick Green, April Ward and Eugene Cantu, and Lindsey and Joey Littlefield, his grandchildren, Patrick “Chubba” Green, Dylan “Mr. Dylan” Green, Kaleigh “The Wind” Varghese, Ellyson “Parker Schnabel” Varghese, Jackson “Nubby” Littlefield, Konnor “Konnor Man” Littlefield, Lennon “Johnnie Girl” Littlefield, Brody “B” Cantu, and Bentley “B2” Cantu. He is also survived by his aunt Loretta Edge, his brother in law, Galen Stansbury, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and close friends. Roger loved his grandchildren more than life itself and gave them all nicknames as they entered his precious family. He spent countless hours cheering them on at soccer fields, baseball fields, basketball courts, and swim meets.Roger’s niece, Jennifer Hugill has a special place in his heart as another daughter. She made numerous trips from St. Louis for visits and gave Roger and Lucinda a wonderful trip to California 3 years ago to see their nephew Patrick Hugill and family. He was gifted with a trip up the hill to visit his sister Jody’s grave one last time.Honorary Pallbearers include Patrick Green, Joey Littlefield, Eugene Cantu, Patrick D.
