Rodney was born on May 30, 1960 in Arlington, CA. He graduated from Anton High School and married his high school sweetheart, Beatrice Synatschk on Nov. 2, 1985 in Anton. Rodney served in the US Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller. Rodney’s passion was agriculture and farming. He owned and operated Rodney Carr Farms and L&D’s Qwik Mart. He worked for the Lubbock Police Department and served as JP for Hockley County Precinct 4, and as president of the Anton school board. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Levelland Masonic Lodge and the Anton First United Methodist Church. Rodney enjoyed so many things in his life, from stock shows, any kind of athletic event, farming and golfing with his sons, going to the lake and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Emma, and playing with his dog Gus. Rodney was a generous man and when he saw a need he was always ready to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and his farther-in-law, Herbert Synatschk. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Beatrice Carr of Anton, two sons, Daniel Louis (Stephanie) Carr of Lubbock, and Tyson Dean (Kelsie) Carr of Van Vleck; a granddaughter, Emma Sloan Carr of Van Vleck; two brothers, Randall (Kathy) Carr of Katy and Edward Jordan of Houston; two sisters, Ellen Jordan of Hermleigh and Mary (James) Hernandez of Rosenberg; his brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Glenda Synatschk and mother-in-law, Doll Synatschk all of Anton; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. Memorials are suggested to the Anton Cemetery Association.
