Richard (Rick, Pops, Buffalo and Uncle Buff) left this earthly place to his eternal heavenly home on August 30, 2024.
He was born in Paducah , Texas on March 3, 1953, and in his younger years he lived all across West Texas.
His family finally settled in Lorenzo when he was in 6th grade, and he graduated from Lorenzo High School in 1972.
He met the love of his life Rita while in High School and they were married in May 1975, then moved to Lubbock where they still reside. They were both looking forward to hitting the milestone of 50 years of marriage this coming May.
Richard was a welder in his earlier years, then began working for International Truck in 1976 for 24 years, then Sorenson contracting for 10 years and then retired and did side hustles of remodeling and using his amazing wood working skills. Some of his happiest times were working alongside his brother George. He always said, “we just click together.”
He had a love for the earlier model cars and trucks along with dirt bikes and street bikes.
Those that presided him in death are his parents Bert and Oma , his brothers Alton and Jimmy and sister Peggy along with his father and mother-in-law, C.L. and Della Martin who adored him.
Those left to keep his memory alive are his soul mate Rita, daughter Kasey (Kade), son Cody (Katy), and his 5 grands whom he adored Rowan, Knox, Harlow, Krew, Kash. His brothers George (Vicki) and Jr (Rita), brother and sister-in-law Tony and Shirley Martin along with numerous nieces and nephews.
