Raymond Diego Rivera, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and grandson, was called home to be with the Lord on May 8th, 2023. Born on July 22nd, 1985, in Lubbock, Texas, Raymond lived a life filled with love, joy, and music. He was a kind, thoughtful, and spirited soul who touched the lives of all who knew him. A service to celebrate the life of Raymond Diego Rivera, 37 years of life is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel. Please see a service broadcasting schedule, floral purchasing, and an area to share stories of Raymond with his family here on this page.
The good Lord blessed Raymond with a loving family who cherished him dearly. He was the pride and joy of his parents, Dr. Diego and Zorica Rivera. Raymond’s sisters, Dolores and her husband, Edward Mitchell, and Marilyn Rivera, listened to their brother, who was eager to help and offer advice. His nieces, Angelia Mitchell and Lillian Smith will miss their Uncle Raymond, who gave them love and attention. And let us not forget his dear grandparents from Croatia, Angela Grubic, who held a special place in Raymond’s heart, and late grandfather, Franjo Grubic who called him his “Little Helper”. Raymond is now reunited with his late sister, Iris Mangine.
From a young age, Raymond discovered the power of music and its ability to uplift the spirit. His passion for melody and harmony was a gift from above, and he used it to bring joy to those around him. Whether playing his guitar or sharing his favorite tunes with friends and family, Raymond’s love for music was evident in every aspect of his life.
Raymond Rivera was a jovial man of profound kindness. He was an enigmatic, fun, loving person with those whom he encountered. His thoughtfulness was a beacon of light in a world that can often be dark and cold.
As we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Raymond Diego Rivera, let us not mourn his passing but rejoice in the time we were blessed to share with him. Let us remember the laughter, the music, and the love he brought into our lives. And let us give thanks to the Lord for the time we had with this kind, thoughtful, and spirited man.
Now, as Raymond Rivera rests in the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father, we can take solace in the knowledge that he is at peace. And though we may grieve his absence here on earth, let us find comfort in the promise of one day being reunited with our dear Raymond in the Kingdom of Heaven.
So, as we bid farewell to our beloved Raymond Diego Rivera, let us carry his memory in our hearts, knowing that his spirit lives on through the love and kindness he shared with each of us. And let us remember the words of our Lord, who said, “Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.” May we find comfort in the love and mercy of our God, and may Raymond’s soul rest in everlasting peace. Amen.
