Ray was born on September 23, 1959 in Lubbock, Texas, to L.B. (Jack) and Frances McClure of Lubbock, Texas. He passed away on April 5, 2025 of a stroke. Ray was the oldest of two siblings.
He graduated in 1979 from Dunbar High School Lubbock, Texas. Years later he met and married Terri (Fleming) Winsor of Lubbock. Ray did not have any children of his own. He was a Dad to Michael and Jason Winsor from his wife’s previous marriage.
Ray was known for his love of fishing, camping, Texas Tech football, living life to the fullest, cooking outdoors, being a Papa to his five grandchildren, a Dad to Michael and Jason, and being around his family and friends. He was the life of any party.
Ray worked at Lubbock Poster Company/Martin Outdoor Advertising/Lamar Outdoor Advertising as a Head Billposter-Supervisor, National Linen as a Route Sales Representative, McLANE Distribution as an order selector, Ivanair Vending as a Route Driver, Lubbock Avalanche Journal as a driver, Owner/Operator of McClure Lawn Service, Meers Enterprises as a Route Driver, and Fiesta Motor Company as a Driver.
He is preceded in death by his Dad L.B.(Jack) and Mother Frances McClure. He is survived by his brother Rick McClure of Little Elm, Texas.
