Randell Eugene Plank “Randy” went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 19, 2022, at the age of 67 after a long hard battle with cancer.

Randy was born on July 31, 1955, to Gene and Sherrill Johnson Plank in Littlefield, TX. He grew up on a farm in Littlefield, TX. He is a graduate of Coronado High School where he served as president of the Lubbock High Schools Rodeo Association. He worked as a lineman and distribution operations supervisor for Southwestern Public Service/Excel Energy for over 40 years. He married Katherine Mankins on May 27, 1995, at the First Baptist Church in Dimmitt, TX. Randy loved building wooden windmills and cutting wood for various projects at his sawmill. One of his favorite windmill projects is the one his son Jonathan helped him build. This one can be seen at At’l Do Farms Corn Maze. Randy never met a stranger, had a heart the size of Texas, and would give you the shirt off his back. His pride and joy were his two grandchildren, Cooper, and Kinsley. He will be remembered as the head of his family, a hard worker, a friend for life, and a wonderful husband, brother, Dad, and Pops.

Randell Plank is survived by his wife, Katherine Plank; children, Kristin Cox and her husband Brandon and Jonathan Welch; His grandchildren, Cooper, and Kinsley Cox; siblings, Steve Plank and his wife Joy, Jeff Plank and his wife Louise, and Lynn Ann Copelin and her husband Eddie Copelin; aunt, Karen and her husband Gary Shipley. He also has many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Gene and Sherrill Johnson Plank.

Randy epitomized what a real Christian gentlemen ought to be. He always greeted you with a smile and a “hey big un”. He was a real artist with wood . He took on a project for my wife and I some 17 years ago Randy took some old Douglas Fir beams that were painted and trimmed i them on that old sawmill of his and

We are so saddened by the loss of our friend and Brother. Randy was one of a kind. I love that Biggun. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. You will be greatly missed my brother.

Randy was and will always be my big brother. He was one of the last good old boys who believed a hand shake and his word were better than any signature on a contract! His legacy is his family and the beautiful windmills he loved to build. His faith was strong and I know God will have plenty for him to do in heaven! He will be missed here on Earth but will live on in my heart forever. Love you big brother

To Mr. Planks family my deepest condolences through this difficult time. Mr. Plank was one of our patients and was always a pleasure to see! I remember one day we were talking about the side effects chemo has and how he would sometimes lose feeling in his legs. Then he tells me "Now I can't break dance like I used to!". He will truly be missed!

We will miss seeing your happy smiling face Mr. Plank! You were such a huge impact on all of us here at the Joe Arrington. Our deepest condolences to the Plank Family and Friends. You will always remain in our thoughts and prayers.

May God grant peace and serenity to your family. Randy was one of the most genuine and true souls I have known in my lifetime. He cared so much about doing what was right and making sure his folks were treated right. I would have to believe the Good Lord opened his arms and said “Welcome Home Big ‘Un” when Randy arrived in Heaven.
