Randell Eugene Plank “Randy” went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 19, 2022, at the age of 67 after a long hard battle with cancer.
Randy was born on July 31, 1955, to Gene and Sherrill Johnson Plank in Littlefield, TX. He grew up on a farm in Littlefield, TX. He is a graduate of Coronado High School where he served as president of the Lubbock High Schools Rodeo Association. He worked as a lineman and distribution operations supervisor for Southwestern Public Service/Excel Energy for over 40 years. He married Katherine Mankins on May 27, 1995, at the First Baptist Church in Dimmitt, TX. Randy loved building wooden windmills and cutting wood for various projects at his sawmill. One of his favorite windmill projects is the one his son Jonathan helped him build. This one can be seen at At’l Do Farms Corn Maze. Randy never met a stranger, had a heart the size of Texas, and would give you the shirt off his back. His pride and joy were his two grandchildren, Cooper, and Kinsley. He will be remembered as the head of his family, a hard worker, a friend for life, and a wonderful husband, brother, Dad, and Pops.
Randell Plank is survived by his wife, Katherine Plank; children, Kristin Cox and her husband Brandon and Jonathan Welch; His grandchildren, Cooper, and Kinsley Cox; siblings, Steve Plank and his wife Joy, Jeff Plank and his wife Louise, and Lynn Ann Copelin and her husband Eddie Copelin; aunt, Karen and her husband Gary Shipley. He also has many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gene and Sherrill Johnson Plank.
