Ramona Lavera Estill, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on April 28, 1937, in Stamford, TX, she spent her early years surrounded by family and friends who cherished her warm heart and vibrant spirit.
A dedicated Registered Nurse, Ramona earned her nursing license from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. She moved to Lubbock in 1988, where she continued to serve the community at Methodist Hospital (Covenant Medical Center) and after retiring, she worked part-time for a Home Health Agency.
Ramona was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church and enjoyed giving back to her community in any way she could. Outside of her nursing career, she found joy in sewing, gardening, and most importantly, spending quality time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Ramona is survived by her son, Bradley Coe; her grandchildren, Mikah (Joe) Flores, Stephanie Whittemore (Shannon Rader), Matthew Huggins, and Amy Huggins; great-grandchildren, Cameron Poulton, Mallorie Henthorne and Cole Whittemore; great-great-grandchildren, Arielle and Stormi Vidales and Amara Poulton; sisters, Lois Turner, Ira Miller, and Corinne Gibson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ramona was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Coe, Johnny Lackey and Raymond Estill; parents, Starrett Turner and Martha Elderado Dobbins; a daughter, Karen Coe Henthorne, and a brother, Marvin Dobbins.
