We invite you to view the live-stream service on this page, sign his virtual guestbook, and download his memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing.On March 19, 1955, Paul Wayne was born to Oliver and Dewena Thompson in Plainview, TX.Paul grew up on a farm, northeast of Plainview. He participated in track and band in High school and graduated from Plainview High School in 1974. He studied at Texas Tech University before entering a career as a truck driver. He drove for several companies during his career, Milstead Hardware & Welding Supply, Budweiser, Coca-Cola, and McLane Trucking Company. Early in his career, he made extra money playing drums in a rock band and a country-western band. His interest in music, motorcycles, and cars continued throughout his life.Paul loved to travel and spend time with his family, nephews, nieces, and friends, attending their events and functions. He enjoyed and attended numerous drag races, car shows, swap meets, and motorcycle rallies. In recent years he enjoyed attending rodeos and play days with Penny. He and Penny attended the Hearts Together Church of Christ.Survivors include a special loved one, Penny King; siblings, Oliver (Katy) Thompson Jr. Of Lubbock, Tx, Kevin (Kelly) Thompson of Canyon, Tx; Nephew, Buddy (Mandy) Thompson of Post, Tx, Aaron (Cristie) Gatzki of Plains, Tx, Kevin (Candace) Thompson II of Canyon, Tx, Brian Thompson of Clarendon, Tx; Niece, Lynette (Keith) Wilson of Slide, Tx, Amber (Blake) McWhiter of New Home, Tx; and many great-nephews and nieces.He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Thompson, Sr.; his mother, Dewena Thompson, and his brother Brian Scott Thompson.A reception following the service will be at the Slaton Harvey House, 400 Railroad Avenue, Slaton, Tx 79364.
