Patsy Bevers Jones was born on September 22, 1935, and was reunited with her Savior, Jesus Christ on July 20, 2024. Adopted at birth, Patsy was able to find her birth family at the age of 80, maintaining a mutually loving relationship with her three brothers for over 8 years.
She was a devoted and loving mother of three young children while finishing High School and subsequently went to TTU to complete a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught 4th grade in Wellman from 1968-2004. Following retirement, Patsy was elected to the Wellman ISD School Board, serving for 4 years.
Patsy was especially gifted with her hands and loved knitting, crocheting, and sewing for her family, including designing ornate and beautiful wedding dresses for her daughters. She loved watching the Texas Rangers play baseball especially when family members watched with her.
Patsy was a member of Lakeridge Methodist church for many years where she was actively involved in preparing meals before Wednesday night Bible studies.
Patsy had many struggles throughout her life which made her heart even more compassionate and kind. She always had a kind word for everyone and was a loving soul who will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Evalyn Scott; her first husband, Gerald C. Bevers, Sr; parents, Roy and Tommie Moore; son-in-law, Bill Murphy; brother, Scotty Scott and husband, Charles Jones.
Survivors include sister, Mary Alice Drake; brother, Barton (Elnora) Scott; brother, Miller (Marian) Scott; three children – Gerald (Kim) Bevers, Sherry Mead, and Kathy Murphy. She had three grandchildren, Padraic Murphy, Haley Bevers, and Clayton Bevers, and two beautiful great-grandchildren, Katherine Bevers and Caroline Bevers.
She passed away on July 20, 2024.
