Patti was born on July 22, 1952, in Midland, Texas, to Dillard and Fay Phillips. She married Gregory Perkins on August 23, 1980, in Midland, Texas. Patti was a member of the Monterey Church of Christ. She earned her teaching degree and taught in Midland and Odessa before moving to Lubbock to help her husband open the restaurant “Bless Your Heart” and then transitioned into an academic advisory role in the Department of Architecture at Texas Tech. Patti enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, collecting books, gardening, honing her quick wit, and hosting events for her fellow church members.
Survivors include her husband, Greg of Lubbock, Texas, son, Grant of Denton, Texas, brother, Curtis Phillips and his wife Karen of Celina, Texas, along with nieces, Laura Davis, Lane Blankenship, and Carol Edney, and Nephew Ben Cayce, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dillard and Fay Phillips, and sister Linda Campbell.
