Patricia Ann (Cornett) Sims was born in Lamesa, TX., on December 30, 1946, to A.B. and Virginia (Brewer) Cornett and she passed away on November 26, 2015.Her family engaged in farming near the Union community in 1947. They moved to live in Brownfield in 1958. After graduating from Brownfield High School in 1965, she attended Texas Tech University and graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon in 1978. Patricia married Wayne Sims on October 28, 1967. Patricia taught private piano lessons for 12 years and music and general studies for Hereford ISD for 26 years. She was active in her church, her children’s activities, and traveling to watch their games.She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers-in-law, Arthur Boynton, Royce Murphrey, and Jerry Wylie.She is survived by her husband, Wayne Sims, of Lubbock, daughters, Natalie Sims of Hereford and Krystal Cipriani, son-in-law, Jason, and grandsons, Jakob and Benjamin Cipriani of Livingston, MT; sisters Wanda Murphrey of Lubbock and Priscilla Boynton of Stephenville, sister-in-law Sharon Wylie of Waco, brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Jacquenet Boyd of Hale Center, and Ernie Sims and Beverly Luttrell of Arlington. Her family legacy includes 90 aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family suggests donations to Calvary Baptist Church, 5301 82nd Street, Lubbock, TX., 79424.
