  1. What a special man John was. He was always smiling and welcoming. I liked him from the moment I met him as he just had such a caring way about him. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and we so enjoyed teasing each other every chance we could. I will miss him. I hope his dear family can find peace and comfort during this difficult time.

  2. John gave me my first job directing a choir at Community Christian Church. He was a loving, genuine man who made a huge difference in my life. Even after I moved, he would inquire after my ministry, and encourage me to keep chasing the Lord.

He and his wonderful wife Karol were always very supportive of me and my wife, especially as we were just starting our life together.

When we had a difference of opinion, he never condescended or made me feel stupid, but would explain his position with a smile on his face, and always listened earnestly to what I had to say.

John Givens was a wonderful man, and he will be sorely missed!
