Nyla grew up as a small-town farm girl in Floyd, New Mexico. She graduated from Lorenzo High School in 1973. During this time, she won the Area Lubbock Avalanche Journal Spelling Bee, earning her a trip to Washington D.C. to compete at the National level. This began a lifetime of traveling. Her next step was graduating from Texas Tech with a 4.0 grade average.She began her career at Lubbock Personnel. During that tenure, she was a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Lubbock program. Her next career step was to found and become CEO of Medlock Consulting, specializing in the recruitment of occupational medical professionals. Nyla became a founding partner of Global Medical Director to add to her busy schedule She was honored with the 2019 American College of Occupational and Environmental Presidential Award.Nyla was most proud of the Harvard University School of Public Health “Nyla Medlock Occupational and Environmental Medicine Fellowship Fund” Award. She loved being a Tony Robbins Global Platinum Partner, experiencing global travels and friendships. Another honor was being inducted as Grand Officer Dame, Royal Family of Danito in Rome, Italy.While building this amazing career, Nyla experienced and overcame much adversity. She lived a life full of faith, loving like Jesus loves. Nyla did this wholeheartedly with a non-judgmental unconditional deep love. She did not just touch your heart; she reached in and squeezed it as Uncle Dale described! She led many people to the Lord. She BELIEVED- in God, people, and second chances. Her smile lit up the room, and she had an undeniable presence! She is now in the presence of God, dancing on the streets of gold.Survivors include her sisters, Gayle Reese, and Janet Butler, nieces and nephews, Jessica Butler, Jordan Butler, Crystal Cartner, Angel Green, Adam Medlock, Shane Medlock, Clay Pittman, Kirk Pittman, and Jana Soto. She was preceded in death by parents, Jimmie and Emma Medlock; brother, Douge Medlock; and brother-in-law, Elvis Reese.
